
Jennifer Hong is experienced in the defense
of public entities in all aspects of employment litigation, including
racial, sexual, disability discrimination and harassment claims, due
process, and equal protection. Jennifer also has substantial experience
in representing public agencies in administrative hearings.
Additionally she has
represented law enforcement agencies against tort and civil rights
claims. She has extensive deposition and other litigation discovery
experience in both state and federal courts, as well as experience in
the appellate courts. Jennifer also conducts investigations into
workplace harassment and discrimination and is skilled in presenting
workshops for our clients on various employment and labor issues.
Jennifer was successful
in a pivotal case in law enforcement, Steinert v. City of Covina
(2006) 53 Cal.Rptr. 3d 1, where the California Court of Appeal held that
a routine communication between a supervisor and a subordinate officer
in the normal course of duty was exempt from the procedural due process
rights provided set forth in the Public Safety Officers Procedural Bill
of Rights Act.
