
Laura Kalty’s experience centers on
representing public employers in litigation, including the defense of
wage and hour, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, tort and
disability claims in State and Federal court. In addition to
litigation, Laura assists our clients with disciplinary appeals and
grievance arbitrations, as well as day to day advice on employment
matters.
Laura has a
demonstrated record of success for the firm’s clients in handling trial,
law and motion, mediation, settlement and appeal matters. She has
extensive deposition and litigation discovery experience. Most
recently, she successfully completed a federal jury trial involving FLSA
and retaliation claims.
A noted presenter,
Laura has provided training for many of the firm's clients through its
employment relations consortiums as well as customized training programs
for clients on such topics as harassment, discrimination, retaliation,
leaves, absenteeism, elimination of bias, disability interactive process
and employee investigations, and discipline and evaluation.
Additionally, she was one of the presenters of the firm's statewide
Firefighter Bill of Rights Act seminars.
Prior to joining
Liebert Cassidy Whitmore, Laura worked in civil litigation with a focus
on complex business matters and professional malpractice. She has
experience with managing cases from inception through appeal.
