Do I Have to Pay for that Time? Pesky Compensation Issues Under the FLSA
We all know life sometimes doesn’t always run according to schedule, neither does your agency. Employees sometimes work beyond their scheduled shifts to finish cleaning, or to complete paperwork. Sometimes they arrive early to prepare to begin their shift. Sometimes employees are scheduled to attend a training, either on-site or travel to an off-site location. Determining what counts as compensable work time and what does not is a critical component of your budgeting, payroll and compliance with the FLSA.
