Jordan Carman
Associate
Jordan Carman is an Associate in Liebert Cassidy Whitmore’s San Francisco office where she provides labor, employment, and education law expertise to our public and private education clientele. In addition to being an active member of LCW’s investigations team, Jordan also plays a vital role as editor of LCW’s Education Matters Newsletter, ensuring the publication’s content is both informative and engaging for its readership.
Prior to joining LCW, Jordan worked at The Child Care Law Center in Berkeley, CA as a staff attorney. In this role, she secured childcare subsidies for low-income clients and provided technical assistance to the Department of Social Services on the drafting of regulations and sub-regulatory guidance affecting families and childcare providers. She also trained attorneys and childcare providers on children’s disability rights and was responsible for doubling the organization’s training and technical assistance to attorneys statewide.
Jordan has served as a judicial extern for Judge Helen Zukin at the Los Angeles Superior Court and as a judicial intern for Judge Lydia Kay Griggsby at the United States Court of Federal Claims.
Jordan was a pro bono volunteer at the Amara Legal Center in Washington, DC, a student attorney in the Public Justice Advocacy Clinic at The George Washington University Law School, and a volunteer at the D.C. Superior Court Family Law Self Help Center.
Jordan earned her J.D. from The George Washington University Law School, where she was a Thurgood Marshall Scholar and a member of the Public Contract Law Journal. She also holds an M.A. in Teaching from the University of San Francisco and a B.A. in English Literature, cum laude, from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Jordan is admitted to practice law in California, Washington, New York, and Colorado.
