Whitney Lauren Tolar is an Associate at Liebert Cassidy Whitmore’s San Francisco office, specializing in labor and employment law matters.
Prior to joining Liebert Cassidy Whitmore, Whitney served as a Commercial Litigation Associate at a prominent Northern California law firm where she managed a diverse caseload, actively litigated cases involving trade secrets, contract disputes, partnership disputes, and Title IX and employment-related actions. Whitney has also proven to be a skilled litigator, adept at taking and defending depositions, conducting witness interviews, and arguing motions in both California Superior Courts and AAA Arbitration.
Whitney actively engages in community service and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the AIDS Legal Referral Panel. In her capacity as Secretary of the Executive Committee, she records meeting minutes and provides valuable insights on fundraising, financial statements, staffing, and organizational strategy. Whitney has been a Board member since February 2020, securing corporate sponsorships and donations for major annual fundraising events and various fundraising campaigns.
Whitney earned her Juris Doctor from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law. During her time there, she served as the Domestic Coordinator for the Berkeley Anti-Trafficking Project and volunteered as an Advocate for the Juvenile Education Advocacy Project. Prior to law school, Whitney graduated magna cum laude with Honors in English Literature from the University of Southern California, receiving accolades such as the Presidential Scholar designation and The Barbara Seaver Gardner Award for Steadfast Commitment to Community Service.
